Frequently Asked Questions
What is an unclaimed inheritance?
An unclaimed inheritance is the money owed to a beneficiary whose relative has died without leaving a will.
What is a beneficiary?
Simply put, a beneficiary is someone who is owed money from a family inheritance or will.
Why have you contacted me?
If we have sent you a letter it’s because we believe you could be a possible beneficiary to an estate we are researching. Your response to this letter will enable us to confirm if you are the correct beneficiary to the relevant estate.
How did you find me?
We use many different sources of information to identify beneficiaries such as birth indexes, marriage, death and census records. From this information, we are able to assess whether you are eligible to a portion of an estate.
I've just received a letter, what do I do next?
We include our telephone number on every letter we send out, so if you want to find out more about what we do all you have to do is give us a call.
Why do we want to visit you?
We believe in a face to face service, so after the initial phone call we like to come visit you. In this meeting we go through your family tree and process in more detail, and see if you would like to move forward by signing our no win no fee agreement forms.
If you are uncomfortable with a face to face visit, we can send you the forms by post.
How much will it cost me?
As we are an open and transparent company, we will always explain how our service is paid for. We charge a commission which is paid out of the estate, meaning you won’t need to pay anything out of your own pocket at any point. If the claim is unsuccessful, you are not liable for any costs whatsoever.
What are the benefits for me?
If you're identified as a beneficiary, you will be in line to receive some money from a relative. Although the amount could be anything from £20 to £20,000, you won't have to pay a penny.
How long will it take to get my money?
This will not be an overnight process, as we have to find and contact all of the entilted beneficiaries to an estate. This can take anything from 6 months to a year. However, this rigorous process will ensure that all the beneficiaries to the estate are the money they are entitled to under the laws of Intestacy.
Why should I choose you over another heir hunter?
Unlike a lot of other heir hunters, we will not charge you an expensive upfront fee. If you are a beneficary to and estate, nothing has to come out of your own pocket as we will simply take a percentage commission from the estate.
